Going to university for the first time for most people can be nerve-racking or rather exciting for some students. It is the lifetime of a student where they attain self-sufficiency and have a taste of independence. Parents won’t be around to boss or older students around. Before moving into an institution as a fresher you need to have a checklist for things to take and things not to take to the university. Having a checklist will ensure that you do not forget to take certain important stuff.
In most cases, institutions have handbooks of things students are not expected to bring to the hostels during their stay at the university.
One of such items mostly not allowed is gas-cooker as students are expected to make use of kerosene stove only. Hotplates, fridges are also not allowed in university hostels unless stated otherwise. However, the handbook should be a guide on what you are expected to bring and not to bring.
There are tons of things to take to the university but remember it is not your father’s house, so pack as little as you can take only the essential things.

1. Important documents

This is like the most important thing of all the stuff you will need to take to the University on your first day. Every other item can be bought around the school environs, but when you forget your important documents at home, you will need to travel back and get. Based on the required documents of your school, make sure to make a list so you do not forget any.

Eating out every day can be really expensive at times, so in order to economize and save your money, you will need to get some kitchen items for cooking.
